He's a north/south player that doesn't have that quick move / quick read angle to his game. He's just not suited to the powerplay.
Now given the woes of the powerplay they could certainly try him, but I certainly see what they're seeing in the make up of his game.

Winnipeg and Florida both used him on the Powerplay. It's silly to assume that he isn't suited to it merely because of his style of play....He's shown he has a pretty lethal shot and is certainly one of the few players performing this year.
The fact the coaches think there are 6 forwards better suited than him for that role is pretty shocking considering the quality those 6 players are displaying so far.
