Sanders was competing against a stacked deck for starters. Obviously he could have done horrible against Trump in the election given that we all thought Clinton would run away with it, but there was a lot of talk that he was a better candidate in the areas where the Democrats needed to be strong.
Flash mentioned union support. Something the Clintons have not been very strong with.
