How about you tell me why you don't think he's earned his contract? Because he had a bad 20 games last year? Is that it? You've stated your position but I don't think you really have any substance to back it up.
Seriously, did some of you expect a Norris winner? Is it just me or is his contract about exactly where it should be for a defenseman of his caliber? He's not making $7.5mil/year. He's not even making $6mil. Hamilton is a very good #3 defenseman and it's not out of the realm of possibility to think he could become a very good #2 defenseman.
The Hamilton criticism is ridiculous. Very few defenseman his age even play in the NHL, let alone put up the numbers he does. Anyone who watched Hamilton when he was in Boston knew what we were getting. There's nothing to be upset or disappointed with.
