Its terrible that the team and city ended up in this position. We love to laugh and Edmonton and Winnipeg but they have us beat by miles in this area.

Winnipeg has beaten us because the built a 15k capacity arena in the late 90s and Edmonton has beaten us because up to literally today, the had an even crappier 10 year older rink than we did?
Again, what is this false deadline you've created based on the fact Edmonton, who needed a rink even worse than we did, has gotten theirs now? It's nothing more than the simple life cycle of assets and buildings? Would you be crying for a new rink today if the Flames had built a new one 10 years ago? The new rink in Edmonton would certainly be much nicer than that one at this point, would we need to build another new rink because Edmonton was beating us? What about Vancouver, shoukd they be concerned that Edmonton has now one upped GM place? They need a new rink to keep up with the Jones'?
It's not that your wrong that the Saddledome has hit the end of its lifecycle, and Flames and the city wouldn't benefit from new digs. It's this childish tantrum you are throwing because for what will end up being a fairly short portion of history that our rivals have a shinny new toy that we don't. It's redicilous, and the Flames and the cities timeline on getting a new rink done shoukd have little to nothing to do with what Edmonton is doing.
Calgary will get a new rink, you can take that to the bank and it will happen in the near future relatively speaking. Stop getting all twisted up because Edmontons old car was older than ours and needed replacing sooner. That just means our model will be newer when we get it.
