I feel like this one is the most rose-colored-glasses of the whole thread. It was frustrating as hell when I was a kid to never be able to rent the movie I wanted because we happened to be too late getting to the video store. We watched other movies when that happened but eventually gave up on it because there were so many bad movies we ended up renting. We'd rather not watch a movie than spend $6 renting something that would likely be lousy. On-demand viewing removed that hassle and it's definitely for the better.
