Funneling arms? Turkey is a founding member of NATO. When the U.S. sells helicopters to Germany is it 'funneling arms?' This isn't like Egypt. There are thousands of non-Turkish NATO soldiers permanently stationed in Turkey, living with their families. Turkey went from a free and democratic member of NATO in good standing to autocracy in many small steps over more than a decade.
I suspect we'll see a suspension of Turkey's NATO status soon. Which is a catastrophe for NATO and the West. But a bigger catastrophe would have been a civil war in Turkey, which not only bases nuclear missiles, but borders the EU, Russia, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. It would make the Syrian civil war look like a game of pattycakes.
