That's the one thing I didn't love. It's not that I don think the retained coaches are good (I don't really know), but really question just what options our new coach had on not keeping those guys. Hey new boss, so I know you basically said these two are quality people, but I'd prefer you find other things for them to do, I want my own coaches........... Likely not going to happen, and I don't like the coach not having autonomy to pick his staff.

I agree to a point, but getting to choose his own associate coach is still pretty huge, and at least he'll get to dictate who does what, it's not like he's going to be told "This is Marty, he'll be in charge of special teams"
Besides, if GG gets to know these guys and then decides he doesn't like what they bring to the table, I'm sure management will have no problem looking elsewhere at that point. Much like how Treliving didn't immediately fire Hartley to bring in someone of his own choosing.
