It is pretty clear that Dougie was eased in by the coaching staff and pat the beginning Hartley did not want to mess with his successful top 4 from last year. Dougie has looked really good playing with Brodie.
Anyone wanting to trade him should give their head a shake in my opinion. He turned out to be as advertised with a huge ceiling he can still reach

As I recall he wasn't eased in at the start of the year and that's when he looked the worst, playing with Giordano. He clearly got more comfortable as the year went on. I went through the thread and not sure I found one poster who wants to trade him.
