The advent of hardline Wahhabi/suffist philosophy is very new, it's only the last thirty years that Saudi has been selling this crap to the masses in an attempt to keep its people in order.
One of the things we should do is stop seeing Saudi as an ally, they are not, they are more trouble than Putin and Saddam Husain combined.
So true. British Muslims in the 70s were exactly as you describe until the Saudi mosques started spreading their Wahhabi philosophy in the schools at the mosque. It's amazing that the government didn't see this coming. If they read one text book given to children they would see that they are teaching kids that anyone who is not the same sect of muslim or not muslim at all should be killed.

Now you have lunatics like Azam Chaudry and his ragger prick convert buddy standing on the streets like some sort of public face of islam when really they are the street church/westborough baptist church of Islam. When they show up outside mosques after prayers they piss off everyone and don't seem to have a lot of support outside. But the support they do have is from lunatics.

A Ahmadiyya muslim shopkeeper was killed because he wished his catholic friends a happy easter. The Ahmadiyya muslims don't believe Mohammad was the messiah but Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is and they also believe in peace and respect for other religions like Hinduism does. Of course they are considered blasphemous by the Sunnis and Shia.

Secular TV should also be banned as all it does is flame the conflicts between these groups and endoctrinate citizens.
