I am on board with this if the flames don't draft top 3 this year. I can't see them having another good shot to add another youngish elite player, (which I think they need) unless they have yet another bad season.
Seeing how players like Hathaway, Nakladal, Kevin and Wotherspoon have all been effective at low cost, I believe the flames could break the bank on their top end + stamkos and fill the rest of the lineup with those type of players. Chicago has only had success after signing Hossa despite his contract and I think the same could happen if the flames add stamkos.
And if it's a disaster after a year, you can expose him at the expansion draft [emoji6]
