Fair enough. I just see him slotting behind Monahan and Bennett as a 2-way center. I don't think he will be a big scorer in the NHL but I think he will have a decent career of sorts. You don't worry about that yet. He probably needs at least one year in the minors maybe two anyways. And there is the chance you switch him to wing during that period.
Big, skilled, top two line centres are one of the most valuable commodities in the NHL. If we can develop Jankowski into that then its huge for us whether we trade him later or not. You can basically trade a big skilled, top two line centre for any other commodity you want.
