That got bailed out by their goalie this time. To be frank, the Flames outworked them much of the night and had enough quality chances that they could've made it a blowout but Halak it appears has the Flames' number. They did a great job of shutting down Tavares for the most part and the Flames 1st line outshined the Isles'. I saw portions of each period but the stretches I did see it was pretty much all Flames. I must've missed the bits where the Isles put on some pressure because I have no idea when/how they racked up 30+ shots.
It's too bad that the Flames don't seem to get rewarded nearly as much this year. I guess it balances out. And when they have been able to find the net, the goaltending would capsize and it's a 5-4 loss instead.
It seems in theory, a goalie and a big scoring RW would take this team a long, long way. Fingers crossed that both are checked off by draft day.
