I think they also have a sister restaurant in Ranchlands now too which is easy to access if you take Crowchild out towards the mountains (Towards Stony trail which would be new to you). IMO their Beef sate pho isn't great, but their hoa version is pretty darn tasty.

Also, Pho Thanh on 64th Ave NE easily has the fastest freaking service I have ever experienced. Ordering of pho to consuming it is usually less than 3 minutes. Not the best pho out there, but decent and freaking fast.

For Sate Beef Pho, my favourite has always been Basil on 32nd Ave which is a kind of fusion Vietnamese food. Although I'm sure others can comment which is "best" sate pho.

A place like Saign Y2K has Sate beef, chicken and seafood pho too. Selection varies greatly from place to place.

Japanese Village has died down a bit as far as I know. The place to be now is Kinjo. But overall, selection has increased which is good. But you can't just choose willy nilly and expect good Sushi. The quality varies greatly. Japanese Village is still middle of the pack as far as I know.

Korean BBQ: Korean Village is the one I usually go to on 10th Ave SW. I on occasion go to Koreana and Seoul on MacLeod.

Alberta Beef. So good. Steaks, burgers... consume it all. Grab some prime rib.

I don't get the expensive meal comment. With where the USD is right now, everything is 25-30% off for you anyways.

Major changes for you would probably be the Bow tower; gentrification of areas such as East Village, Bridgeland etc.; Stony trail and the upgraded malls, Chiniki burned down and was rebuilt. Oh and the water don't have no fluoride now.
