Past success is a guarantee of nothing, but without Kopitar the odds of a third championship drop off a cliff. Doughty, Kopitar and Quick are all still under 30. Jeff Carter is 31 (seriously. Jeff Carter is 31?) Darryl is still the coach.
They have bad contracts - franchise players aren't bad contracts. Anze Kopitar is a franchise player, and he has the hardware to back it up. These guys are almost always worth their money.
Only on the internet is it worth losing Anze Kopitar to retain the services of Tyler Toffoli. Who's 23 years old, and has a career high of 49 points.
