The All-star game is nothing but a lolly-gag of dipsy doodlers for 60 minutes. That's not the best hockey, and there is nothing wrong with that. It's just a fun time for guys, and I tune in from time to time to watch some of the stars having some fun on and off the ice.
If you are interested in the "best" hockey, tune into the SCF series.
It's funny to see guys getting bent out of shape that Scott is going. Like he's disrespecting some sacred and hallowed hockey tradition. Who the hell cares? To make the ASG even more interesting next year, they should have a team of all stars made up of the top 20 PIM players vs the top 20 point scorers, regardless of position. Randomly select six goalies using the lottery system, and take a jab at the perrenial lottery winning oilers while you are at it.

I've always loved watching the game. It's not the same kind of hockey we normally crave, but that's ok. As a one off, it's a fun chance to see guys play with people they normally don't get a chance to play with and the end result is usually a bunch of loose players that make some wonderfully skilled plays.
I enjoy it for what it is and always feel like a kid again when I watch it.
