To those saying the offense comes from the D, sure. But the fact remains that scoring goals is not the biggest problem this team faces - not even close.
Spending a ton of assets to acquire Drouin solves a minor problem.
If we can get him dirt cheap - great. But going full bore to get him makes no sense at all.

Well Wideman and Russell aren't long for this franchise and Gio is closing on his mid-30's so I wouldn't expect the blueline production to last forever. Also I believe at times that blueline scoring has come at the expense of goals against so it evens out. I still believe this team needs elite scoring wingers badly as this team depends too much on their defense for offense and as we saw at the beginning of the season that isn't something you want to lean on overly for success.
