I personally love it. I don't have kids, but all I could think of leaving is how cool that must have been for the parents taking their young girls to the movie. It's fairly rare to have strong female role models that don't rely on their sexuality for power.
It's equally cool for young boys to be exposed to women who are generally badass and portray their worth outside of T&A.
This isn't about being PC at all. It's about healthy gender roles being portrayed in a blockbuster film. It's ####ing awesome.

I think having a strong female lead role is a non-issue. People whining about it are out to lunch. Yoda wasn't a prototypical tough guy leader, and that was the point. I will add that my wife mentioned she is glad that Rey's costume wasn't sexualized with her boobs and buns hanging out all over the place and I agree with that. Rey is just plain badass, and the force is her ally.
