I still don't buy that. If they really go for Giggs and ignore Guardiola/Ancelotti/etc. because of that, the club is run by idiots who should be nowhere near a top club like United. They can sell the "we back van Gaal 100 per cent and want Giggs to take over" story in public all they want, but ... I don't believe it until I see it.
Unfortunately I think they'll keep him even if they crash out today, but he'll be on very thin ice then. The fans have already turned against him, and if the club also loses CL money, his leash will probably be a short one.
