If Price and co were sincere they'd say this was the price he'd be willing to sign for as a discount. The fact that hasn't come out kinda raises an alarm. Jays are cheap, no doubt. But there's more to the story than the agent saying the Jays didn't make an offer. If he was willing to take a discount for $31M, I'm glad the Jays didn't make an offer. He's simply not worth it.
Whether he's worth it or not, when the top Pitcher is willing to play for your baseball team situated in a foreign country, you go out and get that pitcher. Very rare that an ace would ever consider signing in Toronto.

I don't think there's anything more to what Price's agent said. He isn't looking for another deal to leverage, he's already got his money. I think AA fully intended to resign Price and Had discussions with his agent. I think Rogers/Shapiro refused to sign off on any deal being offered to Price and that was the beginning of the end of AA. AA left, Shapiro didn't proceed with Price at all.

Jays haven't done a goddamn thing This offseason. As we speak, Madsen has just signed with Oakland while agents are saying on ESPN that the Jays are trying to dumpster dive to find a budget bullpen. This off season had played out exactly the way I said it would back in October when everyone was jumping down my throat for being negative. Pick up the options on Bautista/Edwin/Dickey as they were under market, go with what they got, and transition back into a bottom half payroll team in 2017. Truly sad to be a Blue Jays fan when management and ownership do not give a damn about anything other than maximizing their profits. A completely failed model in the professional sports world. It would be interesting to hear what the Jays current roster is thinking about this offseason. I highly doubt they are impressed. If the Jays get off to a slow start, in sure it won't take lot for Bautista and Co. To let their feelings be known.

I would fully expect for Toronto to sign Some mediocre free agent pitcher with a recognizable name in the near future people to counteract the backlash from Price's agents comments. It's the Rogers sleazy way. I'm thinking maybe Cliff Lee.
