Depends what you mean by old. If they are pre 1975 you _might_ be able to sell them to a store in town (depends what they are and what condition they are in). If they are post 1975, if you throw them out you will at least save the gas money you would waste driving around trying to sell them. Actually, there are a few (very very few) 80s books that are ok, as long as they're in near perfect condition. If they are 90s books or non-perfect (I'm not joking when I say perfect, if you read them, they're probably not perfect) 80s books, take them to a recycling bin near you.
