Blech.
Blaming the goalies is easy. But this team is giving up breakaways, turning over the puck deep in their zone, and leaving players open for tap-ins. Your game plan can't be to give up prime chances and then tsk tsk the goalie for letting them in.
I do think juggling the forward lines the last two games has balanced out the offense a bit, and I think the team is doing better in that aspect. Perhaps the first adjustment is to trust the forwards more to create offense, and rein in the dmen a bit from their offense heavy attitude.
Russell can definitely use a night off. He's really really struggling out there. He isn't making the big gaffe that coughs the puck up directly into the slot, but rather he's making the very soft plays on weak / ill-advised pinches (first goal) and just poor puck management (4th goal) that eventually leads to golden chances.
Right now the mental aspect is the biggest challenge for this team. Let's hope they start to take small steps and get a win against Edmonton.
