It's not absolutely as grim as I thought it would be at this point with the record that we have, but we need to reel off at least four wins in a row, or like six-of-eight. I felt that we needed to be 4-6 after 10 games to have a shot at the playoffs and I think we're boned, but I'll give us until game 15 before I decide if I'm climbing aboard the Auston Matthews tankwagon for the season.
If we've got 6 or more wins by game 15, I'll be hoping for a phenomenal run and a gutsy come-from-behind playoff berth.
5 or fewer by game 15 and all you'll hear from me all season is how we should tank.

To be fair the way the Oilers and Yotes are playing it likely won't take as many points to make the playoffs this year.
