They aren't even close, pot doesn't take away inhibition or critical thinking like with alcohol and it doesnt make people lose control (for the most part, some people aren't cutout for any drug)

This would be my main reason to not allow pot smoking in public places. Second hand pot smoke is much different then tobacco smoke. Sure there is the think of the children thing here but imagine a teacher being able to smoke a joint around a group of students and they are getting at least a bit high of the second hand smoke.
