AIK is in the Allsvenskan, not the SHL. No idea if that changes anything, but it might.
One year in the CHL and then transition to the AHL would be my guess here. The Flames have more than enough defensemen in the AHL that need ice time, so I don't think there's a need to throw Kylington into the AHL already ... I just saw that he just turned 18 in May, so a pretty young player in his draft class. I think a year in the CHL wouldn't hurt him, and unless I get something wrong here, he'd still be AHL eligible as a 19-year-old next year because he wasn't drafted out of the CHL (same rule that allowed Sieloff to turn pro a year early).
