For most players, they would no longer be in their prime. At 29/30 he would have already spent 11 seasons in the NHL, with hopefully a lot of playoff games as well. I don't think as the GM, Treliving needs to be overly concern on what this contract will look like in 9 years. Too many things can change in that time frame.
