I am not a big advanced stats guy but at the end of the day the Flames had the second highest shooting % in the league and if that fails to duicate itself goals may be harder to come by.
It looks like Ramo is gone the question remains to be seen if Ortio can offer the same quality starts we got from Ramo last year. I am not saying the Flames have no chance if they stand pat and do very little (say sign a UFA forward and Dman) but it will be harder to get in next year unless they have similar puck luck

I read this all the time and yet no stats ever prove this to be true. The Oilers have finished no higher than 18th in the league in goal scoring in the last 5 seasons, and that was the lockout season where half their team played in the minors for the first half the season. Even increasing their goal scoring does not help them lower the crappy goals against record in the last 5 seasons either.
They DO NOT have fire power at all, and considering none of their young "offensive" players play any defence, until they prove they have fire power I for one will continue to dispute this fact.
