Sharp's cap hit is 5.9 for 2 more years. Will Williams get that much more than what Sharp is making? I guess it's possible, but even if it were close you're not giving up any assets.
Either one of these players is basically a stop gap for a couple years until the Flames can fill those spots with younger players in the 25 year old group. If Sharp can be had for cheap, fine with me.
