Yep, one of the best salesmen I ever worked with had a great saying "You can't drive a spec sheet."
A lot of the younger crowd base their decisions on stats. They come in chiming off 0-60 times, top speed, tech tidbits. Older mature buyers were more in it for the visceral elements. Feel, touch, sound, driving 'experience'. With the ridiculous performance numbers on cars nowadays, nothing you can buy is slow. Bloody minivans and half tons would waste most performance cars from the 70's and 80's.
