Edmonton has done nothing yet. Nothing. They haven't even drafted McDavid, and people are acting as if they are suddenly a contender.

Second, I don't really care if they improve or even become a great team. For me it's about the Flames and I'm happy with what is going on here. If the Oilers rise to prominence again, so be it. There are always good teams and bad teams and teams I like and teams I don't.

Finally, for anyone who can't bear the thought of the Oilers being good, think of how long they've disastrously, shockingly, inexcusably bad. Way, way longer than we as fans of their rival have any right to expect. If they do improve, it's high fataing time.

Their offseason is usually (and visually) their best season.
