I was somewhat dismayed, but not ultimately surprised, to see the HF Canucks board littered with people making their PG comments based on Corsi. It's a bizarre cognitive dissonance that says "lets look at unproven numbers to describe how we shouldn't have lost" rather than lets look at what the other guys did right, or what we did wrong, that led to us losing.

So much butt-hurt around "but but but....we SHOULDN'T have lost" and "we're the much better team". umm...no...you're not. You're a statistically similar team but on the downswing and old and we're on the upswing and deliciously young and full of energy. It's not that hard. In the immortal words of Mark Twain: "There are lies, damned lies, and statistics".
