This brings another interesting scenario. If it's a tie game near the end of regulation with The Kings on Thursday, you will likely see a pulled goalie. If we get a loser point against them Thursday, that gets us the lock.

Loser point against them still doesn't get them a lock. Flames would finish game with 96, Kings with 95 after the game and a chance to claim 97.
These are all the scenarios now given the Flames opponents and standings:
4, 3, or 2 points for the Flames sends them to the playoffs no matter what.
1 point and the Flames miss the playoffs if the Kings win against the Sharks.
0 point and the Flames miss the playoffs if the Kings get at least a point against the Sharks.
