Colorado last year received unbelievable all world goaltending which disguised a poor blueline, and they got a lot of scoring. This year the goaltending wasn't as good and they got exposed.

I would argue that The Flames shouldn't be a victim of the same decline because they're team is more balanced from the start, they have strong two way forwards and a decent defensive core and don't need to depending on god goaltending every night.

PDO was designed to value a team like the Detroit Redwings who play a possession game, the Flames don't follow the game plan so their possession numbers are lower.

Again, there's no correlation unless you look at the make up of the team, the game plan and the unusual factors like goaltenders that normally wouldn't have superstar seasons having superstar seasons.
Calgary has one of the highest OSh%'s in the league. They are simply getting scoring at opportune times despite getting trounced in corsi-events. Colorado and the Leafs did it with good goaltending, the Flames are doing it with an aberrative shooting %.
