That's awesome you started liking it right away you should definitely check out more of the World Cup. It probably took me 3 years living in Australia to figure out the game but now I'm a huge fan.
The baseball comparison is pretty much correct. If you know the rules of that you already know the basics of cricket.

Also, at the World Cup, Pakistan has just beaten the UAE by 129 runs. They are now 2-2 and will be in an incredibly tight chase for the last two Pool B quarterfinal spots with the Windies and Ireland. In the late game in Perth the Aussies are 253-1 after 35 overs against Afghanistan. Dave Warner is on his way to 200 and will likely beat the Afghans all by himself.
