2) Glencross is stuck on the 3rd and 4th line for the rest of the year. He may see the odd shift or even game in the top 6 however those 2 lines are pretty solidified right now.
3) Asking for more money is pretty ridiculous considering the point production and games healthy.....
So if he is so money driven to the point of making a comment before the season starts that he is not willing to take a home town discount on this next contract, he better figure out a way to start putting the puck in the net and staying healthy on the 3/4 line for the flames or tell the team he will entertain a trade to a team where he can try to put the puck in the net and stay healthy on the top 2 lines.
Realistically, none of us know where they are at with contract talks but I do know that management has made a point of stating when they were trying to get things done with certain players and I havent heard a peep about Glencross all year. He is in what should be the prime of his career and if this is what he can deliver in his prime on a contract year, I would say he is easily replaceable from a number of guys in Addy.
If we can get a first for him and he can realize that waiving his NMC can mean the difference in millions of dollars, it is a win win for both sides.
If there is not a solid prospect or 1st on the table, you keep him until years end and let him decide how serious he was about wanting more money.

1) it is a fact (rightly so) that he wants more money. It is not a fact that the team is the same with or without him (that is simply your opinion)
2) first of all, you don't know that he is going to be bottom 6 for the rest of the year - injuries happen. And second, what difference does that make? Players on the 3rd line can contribute to the team as well
3) asking for more money is not the slightest bit ridiculous - he is worth more than $2.55M. And if he isn't, then he won't get it. So what is your point?
So the only 'fact' that you present is that he wants more money
