I don't understand the need to have McGrattan waived? This looks like a minor league dufus-for-dufus level deal where the contract number swap was square. The Flames did not need to free up money or a spot on the big team to make the deal. Was Shore on the Panthers roster? If not there was no need to waive McGrattan. Maybe this was just the day Treliving found the number to the league fax machine he misplaced a week ago and he got the backed up transactions fired off.
