It is face guarding. That is pass interference by the letter of the law. The offensive "interference" is the offensive player clearly playing the ball and going for it. The defensive player never plays the ball. It is pass interference, and unsportsmanlike conduct, and should have been first down Detroit inside the 15. Instead here we are, with the NFL offices overjoyed.
