3rd in all forwards for goals with 8 so far. And he's not having goals go in off his skate or backside. At least two are breakaway goals IIRC. A hat trick. And some of those goals were before playing with JG and Hudler. His faceoff percentage is right around the league average as well.
As I said, he's got more than "plug" in his finishing. He's got a sense of where he needs to be in the slot and other scoring spots on the ice, and that's with the Flames top two skill players...and has shown the wheels and forechecking ability to create chances on his own.
#1 center? No, but him having stints up there, allowing the Flames to put the #1 center in Monahan on a different line to spread things out, is far from hurting the team. Given the effort and effectiveness of Stajan and Colborne, Jooris has definitely shown a lot more spark, energy, and consistency than the above two since they got back. Backlund, when he gets back, better also not expect his role to be given back to him without playing at a high energy and consistency level.
