Fortunately, I have the right to veto any cat options and I also have the right to name my preferred cat qualities. So, to the point of this thread, any cat experts have any breed recommendations based on the following criteria?
  • minimal shedding
  • non-vocal (I don't know if you can 'de-bark' a cat like you can a dog, and but I'd rather just start with a quiet cat and not have to worry about it)
  • funny looking - I don't want a generic tabby or whatever. I want a hairless cat, or one with hilariously stubby legs, or a smushed face or something...anything to give it some character
  • small - I like kittens a lot more than cats, so I think I'll be happier with a smaller-than-average cat
  • chill personality - I prefer a lazy adult cat (I don't mind an energetic kitten, though)
That's about all I can think of for now. I don't mind paying a few bucks if I need to get a purebred. I definitely don't want one from the SPCA because they just seem a bit gross to me. Breeder or private sale is my preference.

Was recently at the Humane Society. They have a cat there with a stubbed tail. It was about an inch long. Short haired, 4 year old cat that might be a fit for ya.
