That being said, she was fighting with a Kurdish force, as opposed to a sanctioned Canadian military operation, and there are inherent risks to that. However, Canada should still try and help her.

I agree. May seem like an odd thing to say, but if she was a guy I'd have a little less sympathy for her, but it's a lady, and we know what this group has done to lesser people. Who knows what they're doing to her right now, and that's sad. Certainly she put herself in a terrible position by doing this, but because she's a woman I hope the government tries to save her. Sad really.
