The author makes a good point--sometimes it is unwise to keep 18 and 19 yo in your lineup. But you just can't generalize this across the board. As others have said, there are other calculations involved, specific to individual circumstance. Where a rookie might best develop is the most important issue overlooked. The need for paying customers to have something to cheer for is also a consideration.
