Darabont hasn't been actively involved in the show since early in the second season (he still gets an "Developed for Television by" credit, I believe).
Mazzara took over from Darabont, and Gimple replaced Mazzara after season three was completed. Gimple was the show runner on season 4 and continues to be for season 5:
