We all mock the (stupid) Oilers for rushing their kids and then we jump on the Flames when they feel that the best thing for a player's development is to be sent down. The fact that the Flames are sending Sven down shows that they still believe in his ability to be the kind of top 6 player that they envisioned when they drafted him. The very point is that he is not there yet, for Sven, in the eyes of the Flames, being as good as Devin frickin' Setoguchi is NOT GOOD enough.

Simmer down everyone, could it be that the Flames know what they are doing? Could it be that this is really the best thing for Sven? Let's just wait and see before we burn down the Dome.

Im not sure where you get the sense of anger from, I think it's a valid question people are asking.
My point, which was pretty clear, was that Baertschi was not 'as good' as Seto, he was clearly better. Clearly better in every aspect.
I know it will likely turn out that Treliving and Hartley dont have something against Sven and he is being sent down for some refinement so he can be a better NHL player. I'm not lost on that. My point would be that if you are going to preach up and down that you earn a spot in Calgary and never given one, I would think you need to make the tough calls and follow up on that promise. Which in this case I would love to hear what they saw in Seto that had him ranked above Baertschi when it came down to cut day.

Quite frankly I'm getting sick of fans saying that he's earned a spot on the Flames roster because he hasn't.

Im sick of it because it's obviously not true.
You didnt answer my question in which how does Setogucci earn a spot that forces Baertschi down? If you are going to tell players that "On this team, anyone can be cut and anyone can me signed, I dont care what name is on the back of your jersey" kind of crap that every team likely preaches every year. When someone actually outperforms, not play as well as, but blatantly outperforms a player but still loses that spot, then why even make the statement.
People are going to get all over Baertschi because of his comments, but I could see why he would be disappointed in being cut after he did all that was asked of him.
Again, I'm sure there are reasons for them sending him down that goes beyond his performance at camp, but I dont get why you couldnt keep him up for a few games to show that you stand by your statements.
