Stop making things up. If you look again at the slo-mo, he had his head up the whole time. If you go further back in the play and check the archived game in YouTube, his head was on a swivel before he crossed the blueline.

That's why he didn't get crushed into the boards in the first place and was able to make the pass to Ferland - he saw Corrado and slowed down, expecting Corrado to hit the boards and then peel away. Instead...
If you think it should be dropped and forgotten that's your call, but don't distort the facts simply because Johnny was being professional in his interview.
