Nah. I think this person is just suspicious of a monopoly that is free to manipulate an audience as they wish. Rogers has the ball and they should be explicit about how they intend to charge people to see what they do with it. Hockey's audience didn't get to choose Rogers to be the sole holder of all NHL rights in the country.
Where I live, Rogers is probably fourth or fifth tier in terms of TV/Internet service delivery and value. They just suck here. The packages they offer aren't competitive in this market. This is Bell and Videotron country. Now I'm stuck with the idea paying $200 bucks for the year and not knowing explicitly what games I'm going to be able to watch. It's hard to be excited.
