They opted to start with a new engine and rather than just staying with status quo. So clearly not having experience with the new systems caused EASHL to be a casualty, and that is unfortunate but it wasn't deliberate.

If you aren't happy with what they are offering then don't buy the game, simple as that. To say you are being punished for being an early adopter is pretty silly.
No I dont feel im being over dramatic at all... Im pissed off. If you dont like it... too bad...

As for the next gen platforms... I bought mine when they first came out. They pumped them up quite a bit and had sweet F-all when it came to content. A year later... Still pretty lacking.

But the most frustrating thing is that they keep making games for the ps3 and 360.. So people dont have to update to the new console.. I view that as not caring or "punishing" the fan base that took the jump and dumped money into the platforms and were prepared to dump money into the dev's pockets.

EA and NHL being the biggest culpret. And dont try and defend EA, unless youre an employee... They had a year and a half to develop NHL 15 properly for the next gen. But the lack of money put into the game by EA put them behind because they wernt paying enough people or having the solid coders actually work on the game. That is the bottom line.

NHL always has and always will be a after thought to EA Sports. Period.

They put out a product so they could continue their cash grab HUT. As long as that made it into the game, EA was happy.

But almost 2 years to develop EASHL and NHL 15 as a whole should have been plenty of time.

And dont worry, I wont be buying NHL 15 now... as many people wont be. Not for next gen anyway. The console will sit there collecting dust... still.
