Tim Hortons gets the same treatment as Apple, Microsoft, etc. as with the advent of the internet it's become second nature for people that have a personal dislike for a popular product to irrationally hate that product. Is Tim Hortons an A+ food establishment? No it isn't but you can easily pick apart the menu of every large fast food chain if you wish. Why anyone would waste their time and energy on that is beyond me.
I unapologetically like their coffee and the only food item I eat from them with any regularity is the Ham & Swiss sandwich which IMO isn't half bad because they use real lettuce (not chopped up iceberg) and non-processed swiss cheese. Their bagels aren't that bad as well as I don't mind the odd everything bagel, toasted with herb & garlic cream cheese. Their donuts are decent enough and I don't hear anyone ever complain when they are brought into the office. I think their breakfast sandwiches are gross and inferior to McDonalds but then again has anyone tried a Subway breakfast sandwich? Breakfast sandwiches are kind of gross by definition. I'm one of those people that would never purchase chili or pasta from a fast food outlet so I can't comment on that stuff. If you like it great if not that's great also as I don't eat it and don't care.
Bottom line is that some of their food is decent or comparable to other fast food offerings and some of it is pretty crappy fare like most fast food chains. I just don't get why some people feel they need to passionately hate Tim Hortons like they wronged you somehow. Don't like it, don't go there. Pretty simple.
