Unfortunately when you watch soccer, far more often the wrong thing (flopping/diving/embellising) gets rewarded while the right thing never does. I think the refs deserve as much blame for the level of flopping as the players. When you more often than not give a call for a dive and rarely punish diving, it's simply encouraging it.
