Run through any
10 years of NHL drafts beginning at least 4 years ago. It's remarkable that the top 10 players in any given year often come from all over, with many "blue chip" top 10 players becoming marginal NHLers, if that.
The Draft is fun for trades and chatter, but ultimately it's a crap shoot for even the best scouting teams, and you'll never really have an idea of whether it's a good draft or not for 4 years or more. Getting upset or hyped over a pick is akin to getting upset or hyped about getting (or not) the lottery numbers you wanted.
