I don't think tip-ins should be discounted like that either. Just because it's not pretty, it is still a goal and if they were that easy to do, then everyone would be doing them all the time.
Having said that, at Iginla's age, you can never really count on reproducing 30 goals and 50+ points. His production could fall off the cliff at any time now. So from Boston's perspective, they might want to look at a younger option to fill the top line and take up that cap space. If Iginla wants to sign for cheap and possibly play less, then I am sure they will try to re-sign him. I just don't think they want to put all their eggs in that basket at this point.
