Leafs, Pens, Canucks, Oilers, Sharks, Caps could be teams looking to make drastic changes.
I could see several big names on the market this summer. I wonder what the Flames are planning to do. Last year they made the brutal Tanguay trade and did the right thing keeping their 3 1st round picks. They were rumoured to have the chance to trade for Seguin at the cost of Monahan and Gaudreau which would have been a mistake.
This all happened pre-Burke. Burke has publicly stated the organization is looking to improve the on ice personnel this summer. Treliving has stated none of his moves are for the short term and it will all be with the long term vision in mind.
Calgary has a couple options in my opinion. They keep doing what they are doing and pick up pieces like Galiardi, Russell, Colborne. They could however chase the young player that is on the market like say Evander Kane or Brad Marchand? Will they replace Cammy? Will they be able to make a Regehr like trade where they pick up a good player cheap while taking on a bad contract?
I am so excited for the potential this summer brings for the Flames as the rebuild continues
